19th American Harp Society, Inc. National Competition

The 19th American Harp Society, Inc. National Competition will be held during the 9th AHS, Inc. Summer Institute June 19-23, 2011 at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. The competition is open to harpists up to the age of 30 who are national members of the American Harp Society, Inc. and who are United States citizens or who are citizens of the Americas.  Finalists are chosen by a recorded preliminary round and are notified 30 days prior to the start of the competition. Finalists will compete in person.

There are monetary awards for winners in all divisions of the competition.

Intermediate I Division

1ST PRIZE - $1000

AHS Foundation Prizes for 19th National Competition 2011

 
Special prizes will be offered for the best performance of the following pieces during the 19th National Competition:
 
Junior Division:   $200  L'Egyptienne  Rameau/Renié
Intermediate I Division: $250 Reverie C. Debussy/Kondonassis
Intermediate II Division: $300 Prelude and Toccata Handel/Grandjany
Advanced Division: $400 Rhapsodie M. Grandjany
Young Professional Division: $500 Légende H. Renié

 

Young Professional Division winner: $400 to enhance personal and performance presentation, from the Escosa Memorial Fund

 

A non-refundable entry fee of $40 will be charged in each Division. All entry forms and CD’s must be received by April 17, 2011. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
